Dilger Thoroughbreds is a full-service Thoroughbred operation offering Mare & Foal Care, Breeding, Breaking, Layups and Sales Preparation services. Owned and operated by Mark Dilger, with over 20 years of experience in the Thoroughbred industry between Europe, Asia, Australia and the United States, Mark provides a wealth of experience in achieving the desired goals for your equine’s development and onward progression.
Born in Ireland to a professional horse family, Mark grew up breaking and schooling young horses for the hunting field, eventing and point-to-point disciplines prior to attending the National Stud Course in Newmarket, England. Following Newmarket, Mark spent time in France working with Haras du Mezeray in Normandy in their breaking and pre-training yard before going to work for Andre Fabre Training Stables in Chantilly.
This was followed by a very educational period working in Ireland for Coolmore Stud, foaling mares and shuttling stallions to Australia and South America, and alongside Gerry Dilger at Dromoland Farm. In 2015, Mark relocated to Hong Kong to work with the Hong Kong Jockey Club before establishing Dilger Thoroughbreds in Lexington, Kentucky.
